The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) closes its 25th anniversary celebration with a concert titled “Mga Kulturang Filipino… Buhay na Buhay” at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) on June 26, 6 p.m.

 

It will feature various performances from high-caliber musicians and artists in the country to highlight the eight living Filipino cultures.

 

The anniversary concert will be directed by ace director Floy Quintos. It will have performances from singer-songwriter Joey Ayala and musician Bayang Barrios.

 

Also gracing the stage are the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Dance Group; Philippine Opera Company; Next to Innocence dance group; mezzo soprano Clarissa Ocampo; and rap performer Haydee Bellen.

 

The concert will be hosted by NCCA Arts ambassador Boy Abunda and Venus Raj, the ambassador of Dayaw, the indigenous people’s festival of the NCCA.

Notable personalities who had helped in the establishment of the NCCA will be awarded, such as the late President Corazon Aquino; former senators Heherson Alvarez, Edgardo Angara and Leticia Ramos-Shahani; and Rep. Carlos Padilla.

 

The achievements of NCCA’s 25 years of existence will be showcased through an AVP showing the different subcommissions and its programs and projects—Subcommission on the Arts; Subcommission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts; Subcommission on Cultural Heritage; and Subcommission on Cultural Dissemination.

 

“Mga Kulturang Filipino… Buhay na Buhay” will be attended by present and former commissioners, heads and employees of the NCCA. It will be open to the  public;  admission is free. The concert is in partnership with the CCP.

 

The organization of the culminating concert is guided by NCCA chair Felipe de Leon Jr. and NCCA executive director Emelita Almosara.
