Marian seminar at UST; ‘Nana Cedes’ fiesta in Bacoor | Lifestyle.INQ

The significance and role of Marian spirituality in this time of secularism and moral decline is the theme of the Marian Encounter Seminar on Sept. 22, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the University of Sto. Tomas Tan Yan Kee Student Center.

 

The speakers and their topics are Fr. Gerard Timoner, OP, prior-provincial of the Dominican Province in the Philippines, on “True and Real Devotion to Mary”; Fr. Chito Dimaranan, SDB, rector of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, “Mary, Help of Christians”; and Fr. Aloysius Aliño, parish priest of the Shrine of Sto. Niño in Bago Bantay, QC, “Imitation of Mary’s Virtues.” Holy Mass to be presided by Fr. Roberto Pinto, OP, will held after the seminar.

 

The seminar will be held in partnership with Radio Veritas 846 AM. Seminar  fee of P150 includes lunch and snacks.

Bacoor fiesta

 

The Holy Trinity Parish in San Nicolas de Tolentino, Bacoor will hold  Novena Masses in preparation for the fiesta of  Our Lady of Mercy, or “Nana Cedes”  as she is affectionately called by devotees.

 

Richard Mejia said that Novena Masses will be held Sept. 15-23 at 4 p.m.   A procession on Sept. 24 will walk from the Chapel of San Nicolas de Tolentino bringing the image to the church for the 6 p.m. Mass.

 

Fr. Totie Bermudez, parish priest, will be  the main celebrant.  Josephine Darang
