The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) celebrates the 40th anniversary of Asean-Japan Friendship and Cooperation with the production, “The Restaurant of Many Orders,” by the Koike Hiroshi Bridge Project, on Oct. 16, 8 p.m., at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.
The production is based on the novel of Kenji Miyazawa, a Japanese poet and one of the greatest authors of children’s literature. It is the first and only series of stories for children published during his lifetime.
“The Restaurant of Many Orders” is a remarkable production that uses diverse and energetic physical expressions. It enlightens the audience on how the humans can be in harmony with nature.
The Koike Hiroshi Bridge Project was formed in May 2012 by Hiroshi Koike when he closed his former company Pappa Tarahamura. The group does performing arts and explores other media such as film, photography, installation works and writings.
Hiroshi Koike is a director, choreographer, writer, photographer and the president of the Performing Art Institute.
After working as a TV director, he started a performing arts company, Pappa Tarahumara, in 1982.
