LOOK 2

As the breeze becomes a tad more crisp, cozy knit sweaters are dusted off from our closets and warm lattés accompany our shopping lists.

Seasons change, and so do our beauty looks. The end of the year is the perfect time to whip up your makeup arsenal and brush up on a few tricks. With parties and celebrations left and right, a go-to Fall-Winter makeup look is decidedly the best partner in crime.

With the onset of Christmas traffic and crowded malls, who has the time and patience for anything longer than a DIY makeup look that’s not only gorgeous and flattering, but also easy and quick to do?

Finished skin

Time and time again, flawless and finished skin has been the unparalleled base for any makeup look. But during the colder season, a dewy and velvety twist to this finished look can be achieved by prepping the skin with primer and thoroughly applying foundation with a satin finish.

For a more flawless look, apply foundation with a stippling brush or flat kabuki brush.

Wide-awake eyes

Although days get shorter and nights get colder, it is essential that your eyes look bright and rested. To achieve this effect, apply a brightening concealer in an inverted triangle or “V” shape under each eye. This highlighting technique instantly brightens up your eyes and your entire face.

LOOK 1

Bold brows

Bold does not mean bushy. Keep your brows well-groomed with a comb and brow gel. With a brow powder or pencil, you can also add a little more color and definition. No matter the

shape of your brows, they have the power to shape your face and instantly complete your look.

Look No. 1:

A pair of big, bold eyes that turns heads everywhere you go is the main feature of this look. To get those gorgeous peepers, you must achieve the smokey eye makeup that best suits your eye shape. You want eyes that are wide open, and not those that appear smaller than they really are.

Pick a light highlight eye shadow and sweep this below your brow bone. Then, with a dark-brown eye shadow, contour your eyelids by dusting this all over your creases. After that, blend, blend, blend! Make sure there are no harsh lines. Finish off with eyeliner and mascara.

As for the lips, give them a light and natural color to keep the focus on your eyes. Skip the neon lipstick or bubblegum-pink balms and opt for a sheer, rose-colored gloss instead.

LOOK 2

Look No. 2:

Wine-stained lips will always define Fall-Winter makeup trends. Dark lipstick—seen from the runways to the red carpet—is a powerful look with a distinct retro appeal. But for a more everyday look, there is no need to shy away from bold red lips. All you need is either a softer red lipstick or one that is petal-stained. Kept matte or glossed up, soft yet bright red lips will definitely make a statement.

To balance out the look, keep your eyes lighter and more natural. Still contour your eyes, but with lighter shades of brown like pale taupe. Finish off the look with eyeliner and mascara.
