MANILA, Philippines – Indeed, love is in the air and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a loved one than fly together to one of those romantic getaways in the country for free.

AirAsia Zest, the Filipino low cost carrier that flies hand in hand with AirAsia, has announced that it would be giving away that “extra love in the air” by hosting “#LoveisintheAir”, an online contest where the winning couples may win free seats to any domestic destination.

“Whether you’ve been married for more than 50 years or have just started to rekindle your relationship with your boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, best friend or significant other, it’s always fun to go on a date, especially on a plane full of love for free,” it said in a statement.

Joy Caneba,  executive vice president and chief operating officer of AirAsia Zest, said at least 90  couples will have  a chance to  win  free airfare  tickets.

“Spending time with the one you love is always enjoyable and we wanted to celebrate Valentine’s Day by inviting 90 lucky couples or pairs to fly with AirAsia Zest for free and spend some fun, quality time together, 30,000 feet above,”  Caneba said.

AirAsia said contest mechanics of the  contest  are posted on its social media page (facebook/airasiaphilippies) and are also accessible via: https://on.fb.me/Lcge6b.

Interested couples have  until  Feb.7, 2014 to submit their best photo together using the contest hashtag #LoveisintheAirthrough Facebook and Twitter.  Multiple entries are also accepted as long as participants are using different photos per entry.

The airline said winners would be contacted via Direct Message (DM) and/or Private Message (PM) followed by an e-mail or telephone call.

“AirAsia Zest is a sociable brand and we embrace social media as it provides a fun platform for us to communicate with our guests and fans in a different way. #LoveisintheAir is a treat for all our loyal Facebook fans and Twitter followers,” Caneba said.

“Our highly trained, experienced pilots, cabin crew, guests services staff and team also known as Allstars are all geared up to welcome the lucky winners on board. Let’s paint the skies red,” she added.

AirAsia Zest said it would continue  to strive to promote air travel and tourism in the country by keeping fares low while ensuring the best, quality service for their guests.

At present,  the  airline serves domestic destinations of Kalibo (Boracay), Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Cebu, Davao, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines with international points in Asia including China and South Korea from its main hub in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Manila and Mactan Cebu International Airport in Cebu.
