We all know her from her various ads and modeling stints. We read her beauty tips every Friday. But it has been a while since we’ve seen former top model and beauty columnist Kelly Misa-Fernandez on TV.

Fernandez will be returning on TV to host ANC’s newest lifestyle show “Trending Now.”

At the press conference held at Crimson Hotel in Alabang, Fernandez says the show will give viewers a taste of the latest lifestyle requirements in today’s society. It will feature many different places while showcasing things that are new and upcoming.

“I am not trying to be an expert,” Fernandez says. “We want to let the viewers experience the things that I am experiencing almost firsthand. It’s more authentic. What you see is what you get,” she adds.

Fernandez said “Trending Now” doesn’t have a concrete formula, as they do not want to limit themselves to a specific theme.

“It is a lifestyle show so it can be about food, a specific person, a place or fashion.

“It can actually be a tool to help promote tourism. With so many young people traveling these days, we hope the show will serve as a guide. It will give them ideas on places to visit and how to plan their trips,” she adds.

At the launch, we viewed some clips showing Fernandez stepping out of her comfort zone.

“I’m the type of person who is scared of everything. I like to stay home and relax,” says Fernandez. “The things I do on the show are things I don’t normally do on my own. But I am also one not to waste an amazing opportunity. So if someone offers me something exciting… I go.”

Fernandez still considers herself a model but now that she has this opportunity to be a host, she accepts the challenge wholeheartedly.

“Having your photograph taken is totally different from hosting a TV show, but now that it’s here, I have to claim it,” she says.  “Of course, I now have to work harder to find the time for everything.”

When asked what is in store for the show, Fernandez says it has a total of 13 episodes and that they have already shot three episodes. At the moment she is very excited about the premiere.

“There are still a lot of places I would love to see here in the Philippines like Zamboanga, Batanes and Siquijor,” she says, “but Europe and an African safari are also part of my bucket list. I’m open.”

“Trending Now” premiered on ANC.
