The scorching heat of the sun can only mean that summer is here. But for us student designers of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, the graduation show is the marker—the ultimate high of our collegiate years.

The days of reveling in fashion within the walls of our school through nonstop sketching, painstaking patterning and strenuous sewing may be drawing to a close. Before that happens, allow us to make one last move to prove that our four years in college were not a gag.

What’s better than one show? Three. On Saturday, April 5, at Le Pavillon in Pasay City, watch our team of 70 student designers push the boundaries of fashion with our youthful take on urbane and traditional ensembles.

Casual wear and trend wear

With this category chosen by the majority of the batch, the competition is definitely steep. But with the varying aesthetics, rest assured it is never boring.

TRISTAN Cruz

One of the biggest challenges here is making separates work as one. Whether working from busy streets or ritzy seats, these versatile designers are sure to deliver a tasteful, eye-catching contrast.

Witness an interesting mix of structured and soft pieces that blurs the line between masculinity and femininity.

See a fresh take on trends and watch them adapt to unexpected color schemes.

The goal here is to blend uptown and downtown elements with casual and traditional styles, narrowing the gap between designer and contemporary fashions.

Couture

Beneath the well-ornamented façade of couture lies the blood and sweat of these talented student designers. Couture is something that has become one of fashion’s dirtiest words. Let this team of meticulous student designers clean that up for you, and return it to its former glory.

MVERIE Thai

Brace yourselves as these new designers explore shocking themes, from rainfall to nymphs. Watch intricately embellished gossamer dresses grace the catwalk. Underneath the embroideries and appliqués, see different fabric treatments peeking through. Now is not the time to be minimalist for these designers. This time, they are going big.

Menswear, maternity wear and children’s wear

Now and then, a fresh batch of designers arrives and ushers in a new moment. Blessed with timing, these youthful group venturing into menswear, children’s wear and maternity wear are lucky, being only a selected few.

Watch them open doors to a new level of design. In an atypical and witty nod to contemporary menswear fashion, these designers will unveil their suave interpretations of the usual closet staples.

Maternity wear traditionally rests only on comfort. Allow our one and only maternity wear designer to prove that comfort and flair can go hand in hand.

CENNA Carlos

Dominating the catwalk with the vitality of their creations, these designers are raring to present their chic ensembles.
