Fulfill your princess fantasies by running in a pink tutu and, in true royal fashion, supporting an advocacy at the same time.

Korean beauty brand Etude House will hold the Etude Princess Run on May 25 in Bonifacio Global City. The run promises to put “the fun back into the fun run” by having cosplayers participating in the run. The event will also see a vintage-theme carnival with lots of  pink booths.

Part of the proceeds of the race will fund the One Chair, One Child #UpuanParaSaKinabukasan project, which aims to provide chairs to schoolchildren affected by “Yolanda/Haiyan.” The project is a tie-up between YesPinoy Foundation and Lifeline Foundation Support Team Inc.

Dingdong Dantes  established YesPinoy in 2009 to help public-school students. In a recent visit to Iloilo, he saw how Yolanda had severely damaged a school building in the municipality of Estancia.

“The run will help provide one chair per student, and also rebuild classrooms,” the actor said during the Princess Run launch in Olive Tree Kitchen & Bar in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. He will run in the 10K category.

Lifeline Foundation director Betty Romero said a chair may be a small thing, but it is a basic tool for school kids to be able to study properly. It gives them a sense of dignity, she added.

The races will have 3K, 5K and 10K distances. Online registration is going on until April 15 at www.etudehouse.com.ph. Joining fee is P600 for 3K and 5K, P800 for 10K. The race kit, inclusive of a pink-and-white singlet, bib and race map, can be claimed upon payment in Etude House branches in Glorietta 3, SM North Edsa, Eastwood Mall and SM Southmall.

Etude House Pink Membership cardholders get P100 off the registration fee and receive pink tutu skirts (get the card by buying P500 worth of products). Cosplayers joining the 3K category also get P100 off.

Andrea Amado, Etude House president, encouraged runners to go all-out kikay and dress up for the run. She said some 3,000 are expected to join.

“Princesses are inspired and motivated,” Amado explained. “While 80 percent of the registrants so far are female, we also want the boyfriends and the rest of the family to run.

“There will be a lot of girls, so single guys, join!”
