Summer’s biggest beauty trend is the fiery orange lip color. A spin-off the classic red lip, orange lips took center stage in the spring-summer 2014 collections of couture brands like Donna Karan, Fendi and Dsquared2.

An orange lip is high-fashion. The color is strong enough to create great impact even when you pair it with the simplest of outfits. An orange tint can suit every skintone and brightens a sallow complexion.

 

Don’t be intimidated by an orange lipstick. It’s a simple way to up the ante and sizzle in this summer heat. My current favorite is Guerlain’s Shine Automatique in Corail Ora and MAC’s Neon Orange.

While orange may be the color of the season, finding the right shade to suit you is not easy. There are countless orange hues from numerous brands to choose from. You have to find the perfect orange to match and enhance your skintone and the tint of your teeth, among other things. Make sure that your orange lippie will flatter and complement your features, not the other way around.

 

If orange lips still seem quite daunting, don’t fret. You can still be on trend by finding alternatives to the color orange.

 

Smoky eye

 

Emphasize your smoky eye by sporting it in orange. Learning to do this can prove to be an advantage because orange eyeshadow, when worn properly, can make the color of your eyes pop. The undertones of orange are vibrant and warm and can easily adapt to almost any skintone and hair color.
