I love coconut water. When I was pregnant with my first child, my dad would bring coconut from the market once a week so I could have fresh coconut water. This practice carried on in all my pregnancies and I believe it’s one of the reasons I never experienced UTI.

Last week I was sent a sample of Vita Coco, which I shared with the other participants of a painting session. I was quite anxious since I had tried packaged coconut water and it didn’t taste fresh. But Vita Coco tasted fresh and was so good cold I wish I had more. So I brought home the container with me and gave it to my cook so she could buy some for the house.

Coconuts have always been known as an all-around plant, providing food, water, oil, and with enough creativity, even shelter! They’re chock-full of nutrients from the flesh to the juice. The coconut itself helps fight obesity by speeding up one’s metabolism. It’s high in dietary fiber that promotes regular detoxification of the body.

Coconuts also stabilize blood sugar and lower cholesterol all while keeping you refreshed and hydrated! Its oil locks moisture in while keeping oxidants out.

Not only that, the coconut also reduces protein loss in hair, making your locks stronger than ever. Its water provides an interesting tale: the structure of the coconut acts as a filtration system that gives you pure juice with all its nutrients and healthy enzymes. The water hydrates; it replenishes lost minerals and fluids. The lauric acid and cytokines protect you against agents that age your body from the inside and out. And it promotes good oxygen circulation in your body by boosting blood circulation.

Not surprisingly, there are several beauty products that have coconut as an ingredient. Here are some you should check out:

The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil

The three-in-one beautifying oil gets rid of dryness, restores softness and nourishes skin and hair.

Other than coconut oil, it also contains a blend of kukui nut oil, sweet almond oil, and marula nut oil from Namibia that moisturizes and hydrates. It’s light and nonsticky, usable on your body, hair and face.

VMV Hypoallergenics Know-It-Oil

The moisturizing oil has more uses than you can imagine: it prevents split ends, softens cuticles, slowly erases stretch marks and aids in quicker wound healing. The all-around oil absorbs quickly and has a natural coconut scent.

Revlon Color Stay Aqua Mineral Makeup

With coconut water in the formula, this Revlon cosmetic provides an instant cooling sensation upon application. The lightweight powder gives you a long-lasting fresh and flawless finish that’s shine free. With its fragrance-free composition, it gives you an oil-free face with SPF 13 protection.

Philosophy Coconut Frosting Salt Scrub

How can you go wrong with a product that reminds you of coconut frosting while pampering your skin at the same time? With refreshing sea salts, the scrub exfoliates rough and flaky skin, leaving it silky smooth, resurfaced and refreshed!

Vita Coco Pure Coconut Water

Giving you the feeling of putting a straw through a coconut, this drink has 15 times more electrolytes found in most sports drinks. With its natural components, it will hydrate you thoroughly leaving you refreshed and re-energized, perfect for both physical activities and going through your normal every day routine.

Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Crème

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Crème

This balm is made with shea butter, honey, almond extracts and coconut oil, all blended well to create an extremely effective formula. It leaves hands soft and is light enough for you to apply as often as you would want!

As all Jergens lotions are, the moisturizer is heavy-duty yet doesn’t leave you feeling sticky, and your skin heavy. The scent is just enough to induce memories of the beach and the sun without bringing you to coconut field territory.
