OCTOBER 27, 2022

Art+ Magazine, the country’s only magazine dedicated to visual art and lifestyle, has recently launched its Art Basel Hong Kong issue at the “Focus on the Arts: Art in Transit” event at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell.

The issue features entertainer-artist Heart Evangelista as its cover feature.

The main feature is the Hong Kong Art Basel, one of Asia’s biggest art events.

Featured are recent art exhibits such as Marcel Antonio’s “The Mustard Seed,” Alfred and Erik Liongoren’s “Balesin On My Mind,” Tristram Marivelles’ “Lethal Dose,” and Sergio Bumatay III, Zeus Bascon and Mica Cabildo’s group show, “Unang Agos.”.

An in-depth article focuses on Far Eastern University’s Art Deco architecture and iconic large-scale works by National Artists Botong Francisco and Vicente Manansala. There are also profiles on contemporary artist Poklong Anading, and masters Raul Lebajo and Hugo Yonzon.

In the Art of Living section, featured are boutique and designer hotels in Hong Kong; as well as shopping guides on locally made products including quirky vintage finds at 98B’s Saturday Future Market in Escolta.

The latest issue of Art+ Magazine was launched last week during the month-long art fair. On exhibit at Power Plant were abstract works by National Artists Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Arturo Luz and by Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Juvenal Sanso. Other Modernist Masters featured were Raul Isidro, Ramon Orlina, Eduardo Castrillo and Carlo Magno; as well as a new generation of abstractionists led by Karina Baluyut, Camille Ver, Eman Santos and Caress Banson.
