After 11 years, Child Haus is proud to have made a difference in the lives of cancer patients, providing them and their families with temporary shelter while they seek treatment in the city. Of the thousands of patients it has served through the years, 58 have been completely cured of their ailments in the last year and a half.

This was reported by Child Haus founder Ricky Reyes, whose foundation has been managing the institution since its inception. “We know what we’re doing must be good because the children are declared cancer-free after spending some time with us. They can go back to the life they knew before they had cancer,” says Mother Ricky.

Credit for Child Haus’ success goes to private individuals who continue to lend Ricky their unwavering support and resources. Ricky honored them with a Mass and get-together with some of the cancer survivors.

First on the list is Hans Sy of SM Development Corp. and his family, for giving Child Haus its permanent home at 19 Mapang-akit St., Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City, in 2010.

Then there are Miriam College teachers who come every week to tutor the kids. Other foundations have offered to feed the children and their families. And celebrities like Zsa Zsa Padilla and her boyfriend architect Conrad Onglao, Pauleen Luna, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Divine Lee, Luis Manzano, Angel Locsin, Ogie Diaz, Jenine Desiderio, Daniel Padilla, Nelson Canlas and Henry Omaga-Diaz have also brought food and entertainment to the kids. Some have even spent their birthdays at Child Haus.
