It was like being in a mystical, enchanted forest, dahlings, when Pandora unveiled its fabulous 2014 autumn/winter collection at SM Mega Fashion Hall.

Amazing was the lush scenery of tall trees and leaves decorating the venue. Guests were thrilled by the performance of the Philippine Ballet Theater that set the ball rolling, as an introduction to the exquisite new collection.

Warmly welcoming the invitees Pandora Asia-Pacific regional sales manager Katherine Chan, Pandora Singapore brand manager Teresa Tang and account executive Andy Chum, with Pandora Philippines sales and marketing manager Tricie Legarda, and Lucerne’s Ivan Yao and Emerson Yao. The Yaos are the brilliant brothers who brought in Pandora as well as other high-end brands, to the country.

Acclaimed playwright and director Floy Quintos, with maverick set and costume designer Gino Gonzales, treated the guests to a visual treat that took notes from the collection’s nature-inspired aesthetic.

Each of the pieces in Pandora’s autumn/winter collection is crafted in sterling silver, 14k gold, colored enamel and sparkling cubic zirconia. They tell a modern tale of femininity.

The collection boasts beautifully textured, ultra-feminine rings, earrings, charms and pendants, which can be collected over time and stacked, combined and styled with other pieces for a personal look.

“The heroine of our tale is a young lady named Pandora,” theater actor Menchu Lauchengco Yulo narrated to the audience. “But this Pandora,” she said, “wasn’t the same as the mythical character who opened a box of the world’s woes. The Pandora in the story was a sheltered woman who sought to live her own adventures, and find her place in the world. Brave and courageous, Pandora took to the magical path in the woods to start her journey.” Her narration was wildly applauded, palangga.

The eye-catcher of the evening was the dazzling flurry of stars that took its inspiration from the Night Blue Crystal Set, a series of cool blue jewels consisting of a captivating cocktail ring, delicate stud earrings and a necklace pendant each set with beautiful deep-blue crystals, faceted to catch the light. It is truly a must-have for all ladies of the Pandora pack, dahlings.

The ballet performance perfectly illustrated what Pandora stands for—“a celebration of womanhood, and of creating a series of unforgettable moments in one’s life.”

Just before I flew to Paris recently, I went people-watching at Makati Shangri-La’s chic Sage restaurant and bar. This was one of a series of events held by the hotel, dahlings, every first Friday of the month.

Energy drink BLU raised the bar high by hosting the event’s first leg with the BLU gals giving out BLU syringe shots and glowing necklaces to everyone who came out to party that rainy Friday night.

“We are very excited to work with Sage to spice up the party scene of the young, hip Makati crowd,” said BLU Philippines CEO Shai Reuven.

True enough there was nonstop action on the dance floor to the music mixes of model-DJs Emel Rowe and Samir Ayeb, and endlessly flowing cocktails mixed with BLU Original. The Cranberry and Lemon Lime variant helped keep everyone’s adrenaline so high, that a couple of social butterflies had to be guided out of the hotel before they could fall flat on their faces… oops!

After taking over Europe by storm, BLU has finally reached on our shores, and what a fab landing it was—with great vibe and tons of energy for an all-out fun night without the aftertaste and sudden crash in the system.

Drink it, palangga, and feel the difference at your next fun-fun night out at Shangri-La Makati’s Sage.
