Lawyer recalls four past lives | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Whenever the topic of reincarnation is discussed, I am often asked whether it is good to know one’s past life.

Generally, “knowledge of the past helps us to understand our present life, especially those that defy rational explanation.”

More specifically, knowledge of who we were and what we did in the past life can help explain why we are attracted to or repulsed by a person we have met for the first time; why we have a certain talent for playing a particular musical instrument we have not studied in the present life; or why we excel in a sport we have not learned yet.

Knowledge of the past can also help explain why we are suffering from a particular ailment which could not be diagnosed by modern medical science.

The following is a letter from a 39-year old lawyer, RJ, and shows how knowledge of his past lives enabled him to understand himself and his talents better.

He wrote this after attending my “Soulmates, Karma and Reincarnation (SKR)” seminar, in which participants undergo two past-life hypnotic regressions.

“I saw at least four of my past lives during the past-life regression you did during the SKR seminar I attended recently. In all of these, I was either a warrior or at least a leader of warriors or soldiers.

“First, I saw myself as a king in Spain, complete with throne, beard and a crown. I was holding a bag of jewels in my hand; then as a rajah during precolonial times, complete with a scarf on my head; then as a young boy being trained to fight the Spaniards in a very remote town in the Philippines; and finally, as a soldier with rank, complete with sword, revolver, boots and a horse.

Replay

“I also saw a woman whom I have loved so much in the present life. I felt the emotions I had when the scenes of our arguments were replayed in my mind. The woman also loved me very much in that period.

“She always cried when I left her. The worst thing was that she felt I had betrayed her feelings when I failed to come back. In reality, I was captured, detained and then taken out of prison to be shot in front of my fellow prisoners. A sword was also thrust in my neck.

“The woman in that past life was raped and killed by Spanish soldiers.”

How do these past lives that RJ saw explain or affect his present life?

“I am a collector of guns,” he said. “I have at least five guns in my name. This fascination also extends to bladed weapons.

“I remember that when I was 12 years old, in Cavite I joined a group of elders to hunt birds. Although I had no training in using a gun, I shot the most number of birds. I think I killed 40 birds, although the gun I used belonged to somebody else.

“When I join cockfights, I am identified with the entry name ‘Timeless Warrior.’ In this lifetime I am also a warrior as a lawyer.

Unexplainable anger

“Since childhood, I have felt a constant choking or some unexplained pain in the neck, so much that I sometimes couldn’t breathe. I also feel chest pains with no known cause.

“I have consulted five physicians but they could find nothing wrong with me. I also have a mole in my neck and chest and a lot on my forehead.

“Regarding that woman I saw in my past life, our relationship was good at the beginning, but she manifested a feeling of distrust and unexplainable anger toward me. No amount of explanation could pacify her. Now we have broken up.

“I also learned that as a child, she was raped by her father. I remember that in the past life, she gave me a handkerchief.

“In this lifetime, the very first item she gifted me with was her handkerchief. Maybe she still felt cheated by me in this lifetime. That’s why she was treating me that way.”

RJ’s story illustrates also the workings of the Karmic Law. Nothing happens by chance. What we did wrong in the past will haunt us in our present life until we learn our lessons.
