The Filipino-British has been playing the sport since he was 3 years old, doing so for Chelsea on a scholarship grant before joining the Azkals.
On Dec. 10, James and the rest of the Azkals played proud in Bangkok’s 45,000-seater Rajamangala Stadium for the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup semifinals.
When not competing, he continues to be a driving force for the sport, training kids as director of the Younghusband Football Academy.
“I think to sustain the interest we need to keep winning, or at least keep our standards high and be up there when it comes to the national team,” said James.
Yet with all the matches and projects keeping him busy, James never forgets to keep himself presentable.

Football has been a part of my life… Since I was 3 years old.
An awesome thing I was able to do because of football is… Play in the Clear Dream Match with football legends Dennis Wise, Fabio Cannavaro, Paul Scholes and Andy Cole.
The most extreme thing a football fan did for was… Propose to me.

Apart from football gear, I’m trying to build my wardrobe of… Sneakers.
My essential grooming products are… Clear shampoo, Closeup toothpaste, Dove soap, Ponds Men facial wash and Rexona deodorant.
In my bathroom counter, you’ll find tons of… Aftershaves David Beckham, Givenchy and Gucci.
My daily grooming regimen… Takes 30 minutes. It involves brushing my teeth, showering (washing hair, body and face). Then I dry my body with a towel and blow-dry my hair as I comb it and then get dressed.
When it comes to styling my hair… I wash it in the shower and dry with a towel. Then I have a brush and blow dry to get the hair nice and ready for styling. I often go for the slicked-back look and comb my hair backwards.
The hygiene product I always have in my car is… Alcohol.
Bath products I’ve trusted for years are… Clear shampoo, Closeup toothpaste and Rexona deodorant.
