Because the phenomenon of the selfie has swept the whole wide world, dahlings, everyone is now taking #IpanemaSelfeet, a campaign introduced by the colorful Brazilian flip-flop brand that encourages Filipinos to aim phone cameras lower, down to our feet.

Taking the #IpanemaSelfeet challenge were Azkals member Anton del Rosario and radio jock Gelli Victor at SM North Edsa; good-looking James Reid and Nadine Lustre at Robinsons Ermita; Tom Rodriguez at Abreeza Mall in Davao; and Miss Philippines Water 2012 Samantha Purvor.

The campaign was launched at Ipanema’s newest store in SM North Edsa a month ago. The fever caught on at Robinsons

Ermita and Ayala Center Cebu.

Mall-goers had a feast as they joined games and raffles, got discounts on their Ipanema flip-flops, got to try on Ipanema’s eye-catching new collection, and enjoyed watching the fast-paced Brazilian performances.

“We are so happy that shoppers got a sense of adventure with our #IpanemaSelfeet campaign. So if you’re planning on a weekend getaway, slip into your favorite Ipanema flip-flops and take an #IpanemaSelfeet,” said Elro Corp. managing director Patxi Elizalde.

And to think Mango started out with five stores and one store in Barcelona. Now it has grown to be a global brand with numerous branches all over the world.

At Raven Boutique Club, the brand showed its key looks for the season as models sashayed down the catwalk wearing items from the Autumn-Winter 2014 collection, which included men’s wear.

Emcee Sarah Meier called on Mango director for operations Rosa Maria Gualberto and country supervisor Kelly Santos to the stage. The two expressed Mango’s gratitude for patrons who had supported the brand all these years.

Then a parade of champagnes with sparklers made its way through the crowd and Mango executives raised a toast to the brand’s 15 years of success, dahlings.

To cap off the event, Deuce Manille gave a performance that got the audience rocking to their beats till they were almost out of breath.
