Artists from different parts of the world will showcase their cultures through dance, music and poetry in the 13th International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila on March 3.

The IFLC promotes the diverse languages of the world, cultures of different nations and talents of the youth.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Colors of the World.”

Fifteen groups will participate. They will come from the United States, Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Indonesia, France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Madagascar, Mongolia, Romania, Tanzania, Tajikistan and Germany.

The delegates will arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on March 2 and tour Manila on jeepneys decorated by Filipino artists.

According to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), one of IFLC’s partners, there will be a friendly contest among the students.

“It also provides a venue to develop understanding and respect among cultures, to promote better understanding of each country and enrich multicultural diversity,” the NCCA said.

Major languages English, Spanish and Chinese will be highlighted in the event.
