Let me tell you, palangga, about fashion house Bergamo’s thanksgiving dinner for its friends and loyal customers when it recently celebrated its 28th anniversary at The Peninsula Manila. Its roster of loyal patrons included high-profile executives, celebrities, politicians and other well-known figures in high society.

The celebration was led by Mel Meer, president and CEO of Bergamo, natch. A sumptuous buffet was laid out for the 60 invitees. Chilled Moet & Chandon champagne was served.

We hopped over to The Conservatory to dig into the dessert buffet, where Mayenne Carmona told moi, “The heck with my calorie counting; this is too delicious to pass up. I’ll double my exercise tomorrow.”

Cultural Center of the Philippines president Raul Sunico gave an intimate piano concert, mesmerizing guests with his OPM and George Gershwin repertoire that he got a standing ovation.

A fashion show featured Bergamo’s suits and its modern take on the classic barong Tagalog. Gowns were made by Jun Escario and shoes by Maco Custodio.

Bergamo offers ready-to-wear, suits and barong in Japanese linen, Irish linen and piña. Clients can customize practically anything such as special buttons and embroidery.

This intimate dinner party showed “that our services go beyond style. We are more refined and personalized than any other men’s fashion brand,” said Meer.
