How to fly for free with Cebu Pacific | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

MANILA, Philippines—Remaining true to its mantra “Why everyone flies,” Cebu Pacific launched a lifestyle rewards program that enables its customers, new and regular alike, to book and enjoy domestic and international flights for free. The program, called GetGo, will literally let everyone to get up and go places without having to shell out a single peso, given that the GetGo member has enough points to redeem at least a flight seat or two.

Now how does GetGo work?

1. Sign up for GetGo membership

To enjoy the perks of the lifestyle rewards program, customers will have to sign up first for a GetGo membership. To sign up, they can opt to register:

(1) Online

(2) Via SMS

(3) Via call to a GetGo customer service representative

Who can apply?

Anyone can apply for a GetGo membership. Minors under the age of 18, however, will have to present the membership number of their parent or legal guardian to qualify for the membership. The minor’s account will be linked to the guardian’s so the latter can be notified of the minor’s transactions.

2. Earn points

There are various ways to earn GetGo points and one is by booking flights with Cebu Pacific. From the base fare to the add-ons customers avail, they earn one (1) point for every five (5) pesos they spend. Members can also earn points when they shop using an accredited Citibank or Metrobank credit card. Other partners include ZAP and Ring Rob Concierge.   More ways of earning points and more partners are coming very soon.

3. Redeem flight seat/s

GetGo points are redeemable for Cebu Pacific Air or Tigerair Philippines flights. To redeem points, members may either log into the GetGo website or contact the GetGo contact center.

But what if:

(1)   You don’t have enough points to redeem a reward flight?

You can top-up with cash via credit card for the remaining flight fees not covered by your GetGo points.

(2)   You want to redeem your points through a partner outlet?

Redemption of points is purely for flights..

(3)   You want to modify or cancel a reward flight?

You will have to pay for any fare difference or change fee incurred as cancellation of or changes in flights are subject to fare conditions and the prerogative of Cebu Pacific Air and Tigerair Philippines.

Circle and sharing

Customers may also share their GetGo points with another GetGo member. To do so, they have two options: (1) join a circle or; (2) create a share group.

Circle

A GetGo circle, composed of eight (8) GetGo members, allows these members to pool their points together for common use. Only one member can head the Circle and the group can decide whether they will give everyone the authority to redeem points at any given time or just one member will have the power to do so. If there is a minor in the group, especially for family circles, it is advisable to authorize only one member to redeem points for the entire Circle.

Share Group

The Share Group, on the other hand, enables GetGo members to select seven people, even non-GetGo members, who they would like to share their points with. Through the Share Group, they can redeem reward flights for these people using their own points. It is not possible, however, for a Share Group nominee to redeem a reward flight for himself. It is the GetGo member who must do the points redemption and booking of flight/s.

GetGo General Manager Nik Laming says “My hope is that with this program, we’re able to thank our best customers, to get customers to fly with us more often, and they ultimately get to fly for free which is hopefully going to bring smile to a bunch of people’s faces.”
