The friends of the International Care Ministries (ICM), hosted breakfast and dinner events last June 8, at Makati Shangri-La Hotel to formally introduce ICM to both the public and private sector as well as to the members of the Christian organizations and churches.

The breakfast event, attended by over 60 leaders from local corporate foundations, the academe and the business sectors, featured a series of informative talks kicked off by a keynote speech from Diwa Guinigundo, Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Governor for the Money Stability Sector, who shared expert insights and projections on the Philippine economy and described the role of ICM, and other sectors in the fight against poverty and nation-building.

Deanna Sutherland, ICM creative director, and Dave Sutherland, ICM chair, presented the background of ICM, the positive impact of its projects in the Philippines and presented an inspiring success story of a woman who underwent ICM’s Transform program.

ICM donors Dennis Montecillo from Bank of the Philippine Islands and Stella Shapero from Asian Development Bank affirmed the impact of ICM’s projects and encouraged the audience to join the movement to help the country’s ultra-poor communities through ICM.

Attendees for the breakfast included The Coca-Cola Foundation, The Metrobank Foundation, The Lopez Foundation, Finex Foundation, Philippine Business for Social Progress, Credit Card Association of the Philippines, Asia United Bank, Bank of Commerce, Steel Manufacturing Asia, German Embassy, European Union, Stop Hunger Now, World Vision, DSWD, PhilHealth, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Smart and HSBC.

The dinner event saw a gathering of over 90 leaders from various Philippine Christian organizations and churches. Presentations were done by Deanna and Dave Sutherland and testimonies were delivered by Pastor Desmond Chan, director for strategic partnerships of Christ’s Commission Fellowship and Gilbert Cruz, chair of Davies Technical Solutions Inc.

The dinner presentations emphasized the importance of ICM’s partnership with churches, pastors and Christian organizations.
