Cebu’s party set has been hopping from one A-list event to another. Three of them came in quick succession.

Louis Vuitton literally came to town with a three-day trunk show at the Ocean Pavilion of Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa.

The opening was held on a bright Sunday morning. The sky was blue, and so was the sea; the sandy beach sparkled in the sunlight. For all its beauty, it was a hot day, perfect for a picnic.

That’s what everyone felt in the cool and elegant confines of the Ocean Pavilion, as Louis Vuitton plied the precious guests with ice-cold champagne.

Delicious fare was served— Wagyu burgers, Manchego croissants filled with jamon iberico and hazelnut mille-feuille.

Rhea de Vera-Aguirre, LV general manager for the Philippines and Micronesia, greeted one and all, many of them repeat guests from the last LV show held on October in the same venue.

Other LV VIPs in attendance were merchandising manager Pamela Lacson, PR executive Mary Reyes, Rizal Khusaine, who is in charge of merchandising for South Asia, and Nathan Whitton, Southeast Asia events manager, based in Hong Kong.

Rosa Clara

Rosa Clara also held a three-day trunk show, its first in Cebu, in the premises of 32 Sanson Road by Rockwell.

Here for the occasion was Erica Abellana Espiritu, who explained that Rosa Clara is indeed a real live dynamic personality.

Rosa Clara opened her first wedding gown outlet 20 years ago in Barcelona, Spain.

She offered innovative designs using high-quality fabrics and soon made a name for herself.

The wedding gowns were on display but not for sale. Measurements are taken of would-be brides for a customized gown that will be delivered to them in due time.

Rosa Clara shops eventually sprung up all over Spain and the rest of the world.

The Manila shop, located at The Residences in Greenbelt, is the only one in Asia.

Aside from wedding gowns, there is also a line of formal evening wear.

A stunning number displayed in Cebu attracted Amparito Lhuillier, for whom it was a perfect fit.

“Compralo,” suggested Teresin Mendezona, who had styled the event, which was attended by a large group of fashionistas.

Jewelmer reopening

Jewelmer reopened its glittering boutique at the Ayala Center Cebu on July 2.

Guests of honor were Cebu City Councilor Margot Osmeña, Nonie Uy and Penny Weigel.

They were assisted by Jewelmer Joaillerie executive vice president and deputy CEO Jacques Branellec, and creative director Gaelle Branellec.

Also present were Ludo Branellec, Jewelmer executive marketing manager Tricie Legarda and Issa Litton, who hosted the event’s program.

Lucky guests went home with valuable prizes raffled off.

To quote Monsieur Jacques Branellec: “We would like to strengthen relationships by getting more acquainted with Cebuanos. We have strong ties to Cebu, as it is where most of our people come from. They not just appreciate the beauty of the pearl but also understand its importance.”
