BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—Argentine President Cristina Kirchner became a grandmother for the second time Monday when her daughter, Florencia Kirchner, had her first child, a hospital source said.

It is the first granddaughter for the 62-year-old Kirchner; the baby, reportedly born by Cesarean section, has been named Elena.

Kirchner’s son Maximo has a son, Nestor Ivan—named for his late grandfather, president Nestor Kirchner, who died in 2010.

Florencia Kirchner gave birth at the Sanatorio Otamendi in Buenos Aires, according to the source who spoke on condition they not be named. There was no official statement.

The baby is the first for Florencia Kirchner, 24,  and her partner Camilo Vaca Narvaja, 29. Vaca Narvaja is active with La Campora, the youth wing of the president’s party, which is led by her son Maximo.
