Page Six, the gossip and entertainment column of the New York Post, exclusively revealed the identity of one of the top bidders of the Miss Universe pageant. The pageant is owned by business tycoon and US Presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump.

Trump’s Miss Universe shares went up for sale after his comments about Mexico in his June presidential announcement drew some flak. Since Trump owned the pageant, the ratings and the image of the Miss Universe pageant took a hit, reportedly turning off potential host countries and big sponsors.

The top bidder happens to be no less than 54-year-old “überageant” Ari Emanuel, who owns top talent-model, entertainment and media agency WME/IMG. Page Six  reports that according to an insider, “Emanuel and WME/IMG could modernize the pageant and make it into an even bigger franchise. It could easily live within IMG, which produces New York Fashion Week and has successful fashion and modeling divisions.”

IMG is one of the biggest modeling agencies, with a roster of supermodels from Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen to Karlie Kloss, to name a few.
