HUAWEI TalkBand B2

Wearable devices are gaining popularity, with newer ones offering more than pedometer readings. One of the newer entrants is the Huawei TalkBand B2.

The wrist device brings together the convenience of a Bluetooth earpiece and the functionality of a fitness tracker. Aside from measuring the number of steps you take in a day, it is equipped with dual microphone, noise reduction technology and quality Bluetooth technology.

It notifies the wearer when there is an incoming call by showing the name or number of the caller on the screen; all you have to do is detach the earpiece with a click to answer the call.

One particular feature that desk-bound employees will appreciate about the TalkBand B2 is how it notifies the wearer if he or she has been sitting for too long. An icon will come onscreen, urging the wearer to get up, stretch and move around.

“As more Filipinos become health-conscious, so does the market for wearable technology,” said Charles Wu, country head for Huawei Philippines’ consumer business group.

Features that fitness buffs will cozy up to include the device’s six-axis motion sensor that detects different activities with higher accuracy such as walking, running, cycling or climbing and hiking.

It also measures the amount and quality of one’s sleep so one can adjust accordingly.

The TalkBand B2 has a 0.73-inch, 128 x 88 pixel, mono PMOLED touchscreen. Its metal bracket is made of lightweight aviation aluminum. The sport edition available in black or white is priced at P6,990 while the gold executive edition retails at P7,990. Now sold at all Huawei brand shops nationwide.
