ANNA Priadka

NARS international makeup stylist Anna Priadka is no stranger to the fashion runway having walked on it and worked behind it. She was a model before discovering that her real passion was working behind the scenes.

As a London-based makeup artist, Anna has perfected her technique on the high fashion runways. She took part in fashion weeks all around the world, including New York and London, where she worked with designers such as Alexander Wang. She has also perfected her knowledge and skill by assisting some of the United Kingdom’s most prominent talents in makeup. Aside from high fashion, Anna has worked on editorial spreads for publications including L’Officiel Ukraine, Hong Kong Tatler and Cosmopolitan Russia.

Her 10 years in the industry have taught her one undeniable fact: There isn’t any proper order of applying makeup. Whatever you feel comfortable with, apply first! As Francois Nars said, “There are no rules to makeup.”

Anna was in the Philippines recently to tell us what’s trending abroad. And as expected, she shared exciting makeup techniques to make Fall makeup looks more wearable.

Runway to reality

The next big makeup trend for Fall 2015 is… Scribbled Liner. This is liner that looks like you drew it on with a crayon in an artsy, crazy fashion.

A key look I’ve been noticing in the London runways is… always dewy, fresh skin that looks like it has barely been touched with makeup.

The most memorable job I’ve done is… Assisting a top makeup artist on a shoot with the incredible British photographer, David Bailey. His personality alone was memorable!

Products I’m loving at the moment are… The new Nars Dual Intensity Blushers. I love how you can create dewy, glossy skin with these with just one swipe. The new Nars Velvet Shadow Sticks are incredible as you can create almost any eye makeup look with them. My favorite shade has to be Aigle Noir. And the Nars VIP Red lipstick for fall is the must have red. I love how it gives an instant Hollywood glamor.

My all-time number one beauty icon is… Sophia Loren.

I adore her bone structure, lips and almond eye shape—the perfect face for makeup!

My favorite Nars product of all time is… Copacabana Illuminator. I use it under everything to give a glossy dewy finish to the skin.

Basket of tricks

My preferred way to apply red lipstick is… Classic. I use a sharp red lip pencil to define and shape the lips first and fill in, then apply the color on top. I finish with concealer on the edges to sharpen and enhance.

A secret to choosing the perfect red lipstick is… very simple. If you are yellow-based, go for warmer toned reds with orange/brown undertones. If you are more pink, blue/purple-based, reds are the winner. Also just try it on. You can instantly tell a good red as it makes the rest of your features brighter.

If women had time to apply just one makeup product, it should be… concealer. This helps to even out the skin tone and cover imperfections, giving you the perfect skin.

Top tip: Mastering the eyes

For a taste of Nars’ latest offerings, try the new Audacious Mascara for Fall 2015. You will instantly get compliments on your lashes! The brush is rubberized, with crisscrossing bristles that hit every lash. You get seamless length, lift and volume that leaves doe-eyed perfection. It comes in Black Moon, P1,450.

To intensify the eyes even more, use it together with the Nars Kohliner, Audacious Mascara’s “partner-in-line.” It’s a new twist up black liner, perfect for lining water lines to make your lashes look thicker at the base. It comes in Minorque (Black), P1,350.
