How visualization can heal you | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

There is no doubt that the human mind has the power to heal all sorts of illnesses, if properly harnessed and used. Together with strong and sincere intention, the use of mental imagery has been proven to work wonders for many people.

Many books have come out in the last 10 years describing the many benefits of visualization, not only for healing but for almost all types of human endeavor, such as sports, problem-solving and goal attainment.

In my seminar on Inner Mind Development, I teach a powerful technique on how to heal ourselves through the use of mental imagery or visualization.

By simply relaxing both our mind and body, and going into a meditative or altered state of consciousness, the human mind is capable of influencing the course of an illness, and often making it disappear completely.

It is true, however, that visualization for healing may not always work —and it is for this reason that some people may be reluctant to use such a technique—but during an emergency, where there are no other available means of help, visualization can save the day for you.

In the many years I have taught participants in my seminar how to heal themselves through mental imagery, I have come across many examples of the power of the mind to heal.

Take for example the case of a 38-year-old businessman named Anthony, who was very skeptical about the things I was teaching in my seminar.  I didn’t know he had been suffering from sinusitis for several years before coming to the seminar. Using the very simple visualization technique taught in my class, he got rid of his sinusitis completely.

That was 15 years ago.  Up to now his sinusitis has not recurred.

Big as a fist

There was also the case of Susan, who had a myoma as big as her fist.  An ultrasound taken a month before the seminar showed the existence of the myoma.

No medicine was given to her by her gynecologist because she wanted to observe it before performing an operation.

During the seminar, she visualized her myoma as a coconut fruit that withered and died. Immediately afterwards, she went back to her doctor for another ultrasound, and it showed the myoma to be gone.

It has never recurred after many years.

Ed, a young doctor of medicine from Bacolod, suffered from a kidney stone. It was big enough not to pass through the urinary tract.

It took two months of daily visualization before he was able to reduce it to a size small enough to be excreted through the urinary canal.

He wrote me a detailed account of his incredible experience, together with the results of the ultrasound, of how visualization helped him get rid of his kidney stone.

I have many more examples of how visualization has helped people heal themselves, both of minor and serious illnesses. Although visualization does not always work, given some patience and following the right technique, it can be made to work.

Why does visualization sometimes fail? The following are a few of the reasons or causes:

The person may not have reached a very relaxed state of mind and body.

The image of the problem and solution may not be very clear.

He may be too critical, or questioning what is being seen in his/her mind and unable to let go.

He may be distracted during the process, or his mind may wander. For visualization to succeed, one needs to have complete focus or attention.

Belief will help, but it is not absolutely necessary for visualization to work. As long as the person does not actively question or argue what is being seen in the mind, it does not matter whether he/she believes in it or not. I have had many students who were even laughing at the technique yet were nevertheless healed of their ailments. You can, too.
