Vania Romoff

Vania Romoff makes fairy tale wedding gowns come true. The 27-year-old Cebuana has made her mark for her design aesthetic that is feminine and classic, yet forward-looking and very sophisticated.

Her couture and bridal pieces have been worn by Kim Jones-Rosales and Xandra Rocha-Araneta. Not that we needed convincing when it comes to Romoff’s clean lines, flattering silhouettes and quiet elegance characterize her style.

Lately, she has signed up as ambassador of Clinique’s #FaceForward campaign. The popular beauty brand has bypassed traditional models in favor of successful young entrepreneurs, in the hopes of inspiring young women everywhere to never give up on their ambitions no matter what they are.

Backstage Pass speaks to Romoff about her go-to beauty goods, plans for the future and how to keep up appearances.

First baby

When it comes to personal goals, on the horizon for 2016 is… an open book with beautiful new pages to write on. I’m having my first baby so I’m excited about that.

A fabric I’m obsessed with now is… linen—it’s perfect for the tropics!

My favorite color palette for the holiday season is… always red and gold.

The one foreign designer who has influenced me a lot is… Cristobal Balenciaga.

I have a regular compulsion to buy… candles and recently, baby clothes.

A person who has shaped the way I see fashion is… Simmons in “Dior and I.” You have to watch the film to understand why.

Morning beauty prep

My approach to style and makeup has evolved by… getting more comfortable with what I know I want. I know what looks good on me and what feels best.

My skin feels it’s best when… I’ve had a little sun. I like a nice healthy tan.

My morning beauty prep involves these three things… a splash of cold water, no cleanser; Caudalie Beauty Elixir spray (it’s like magic Evian!); and argan oil.

My beauty musts include… Armani foundation because it’s translucent and feels lighter than BB cream. I also like Lucas’ Papaw and Benefit Benetint.

My favorite Clinique product of all time is… The 3-Step System products, definitely.

The perfumes I have on my dresser right now are… Hermès un Jardin sur le Nil, Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Vitae  and my everyday staple since forever, Lanvin Eclat d’Arpège.

I spend good money on… scented candles, oils and hair products. I use John Masters sea salt spray because I don’t have time to comb my hair. And, until recently, eye cream. I’m 27 and someone told me I need to start using them. (Who knew they were so pricey!) I also wear Shiseido Elixir face masks. It’s always fun wearing face masks around the house and looking silly.

The one beauty product I have the most of is… bronzers. I have an odd obsession with the unattainable golden tan, so I fake it. My faves are Bahama Mama, Guerlain and Sephora. One of my favorite go-to lippies is Graped-up from Clinique.

Top tip

Feeling comfortable with your skin and believing you can accomplish anything you put your mind into are what the Clinique #FaceForward campaign is all about.

You can start by trying Romoff’s favorite, the 3-Step System by Clinique—a set of bestselling skincare products which you can use along with a matching purifying cleansing brush (P5,600).

The bristles of the purifying cleansing brush target cleansing in hard-to-reach, contoured areas of the face where dirt hides. The non-drying Foaming Facial Soap cleanses skin gently and thoroughly, creating a comfortable, refreshed complexion.

The smoothing, ultra-refreshing Clarifying Lotion 2 removes dead skin cells, whisks away flakes and refines pores.

The cult-favorite and luxurious Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion features a lightweight texture that delivers essential moisture for a smooth, radiant finish.

Join Clinique by using #FaceForward and make a promise to yourself to be fearless in your own skin with your best face forward.
