THE WORLD of yoga is changing. Communities all over the world have been growing, as the number of studios and teachers continues to rise.

Through social media, yoga has become even more accessible. Practitioners have drawn inspiration and support from the demonstrations and interactions on social platforms that not only overcome geographical barriers but also create communities on a large scale.

Beyond the amazing movements against the beautiful scenery we see on Facebook and Instagram, yoga brings about many lessons and benefits that are not to be missed. It has been practiced to bring about physical, emotional and spiritual strength, as well as stamina and wellbeing.

The means of teaching has been evolving, but there is no substitute to learning firsthand under the guidance of good teachers who impart not just the grace of holding incredible poses, but also the wisdom developed from many years of discipline, dedication, sincerity and authenticity.

The husband-and-wife team of Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor founded Miami Life Center. The two are authorized teachers of the ashtanga yoga method of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois of Mysore, India. They travel all over the world to shine more light on the practice of thousands of students.

Tim is well-loved for integrating his meditation practice and extensive experience as a professional dancer and internationally acclaimed choreographer into his teaching. This is coupled with his deep knowledge of anatomy, and his calm and humorous approach.

In a rare opportunity, both Tim and Kino are coming to Yoga Manila for a five-series weekend workshop on Jan. 22-24, at the third floor of Edades function room, Waterfront Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City.
