SAN FRANCISCO–Flying aboard China Southern’s (CZ) new Boeing 787 Dreamliner en route from San Francisco to Manila (via Guangzhou) will give passengers a unique but memorable experience. This aircraft remains one of the newest being flown commercially today since its launch was only back in 2011.
A nice touch that everyone will first notice upon boarding, which pays dividends later on, was the down comforter provided to each passenger.
A customary warm towel and a choice of pre-takeoff beverage is offered when the passenger takes his seat. Each business class seat has an ottoman/foot rest that also doubles as storage for some blankets, pillows and shoes. The extra storage space is a great organizer to keep items in order when not in use.
Personal AVOD (Audio Visual on Demand) is available not only in every business and first class seat, but also in economy like many big airlines today. The business class screen boasts a 15-inch presence with both touch screen and remote control functions plus a choice of 127 movies and 258 television programs.
The lavatory is noticeably clean and spacious. It is also fitted with technology refinements: both the faucet and toilet are sensor operated. Boeing uses new technology to aid in flight safety–If the passenger is in the lavatory and the fasten seat belt sign activates, the lavatory light will revert to ambient lighting prompting the person to finish his business quickly.
Immigration and transit services
The China Southern Business Class lounge at Baiyun Airport is world class. There are two levels: the ground level where the main food and beverage area are and the balcony level providing a bird’s eye view of the terminal with ample comfortable seating.
The complimentary shower units and even beds to sleep in will set this lounge apart from the others. There’s also a chef preparing different types of soup on demand such as won ton and beef noodle soup.
