No bridal car, no problem.

In what appeared to be as a last-minute mishap on one of the most important days of her life, a bride did not allow a minor blunder to spoil her wedding.

A certain Lilith Villamor on Monday took to Facebook to share how she opted to hail a ride from Uber, a transport application of a ride-sharing firm, to get to her wedding venue on time.

Villamor said she was still at a hotel in Makati City with an event organizer and a make-up artist at around 9:15 a.m. or less than an hour before the scheduled ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday when she was told that the key to her bridal car was left in the compartment.

“Okay na ang lahat ng suppliers, coordinators, relatives, entourage, etc… Umalis na lahat sa The Victor Hotel at nagpuntang church. Sympre ako ang bride, ako ang huling aalis du’n,” Villamor said.

(Everyone was okay: the suppliers, the coordinators, my relatives, the entourage, etc…They already left the (hotel) on the way to the church. Of course I was the last one to leave because I am the bride.)

“Dapat on the way na kami… Sabi sa ‘kin wait lang daw dahil nagkaproblema ang bridal car. Bakit kako. Naiwan ang susi sa compartment!” she said.

(We were supposed to be on the way…But I was informed that there was a problem with the bridal car. I asked why. They said the key was left inside the compartment.)

Villamor said she decided to get her phone and book an Uber ride when she saw that the scenario seemed “hopeless.”

The bride said a black Toyota Innova arrived in a few minutes, adding that the people assisting her even got to transfer the flower decoration from the bridal car to the Uber vehicle.

“Habang nasa car, nagtatawanan na lang kaming tatlo (4 kasama si Uber driver) dahil kakaiba nga daw. Medyo nagulat pa yata si kuya nu’ng unang kita niya sa ‘kin. Malay ba niyang naka-gown ang pasahero niya. Haba pa naman ng gown ko,” she said.

(While inside the car, we, including the Uber driver, were just laughing about the incident. The driver was probably surprised when he saw me. He probably did not know that he was going to pick up a passenger wearing a gown. And my gown was long!)

Villamor said they arrived at the church on time.

“Ang nakakatuwa pa, si kuya Uber driver Christian pala. Kaya pinag-pray over niya muna kami at pumayag na mag-stay hanggang makapasok muna ang mga entourage… Kaya laki ng pasalamat ko sa Uber at siyempre apir din sa sarili ko at hindi ako nag beastmode sa bridal car,” she added.

(I also appreciated that the Uber driver is Christian. So he prayed for us and decided to stay until the entourage entered the church. I am very thankful to Uber and I also applaud myself because I did not get mad over the bridal car incident.)

Villamor said it cost her only P101 to get to her wedding, even encouraging other brides to avoid hiring expensive bridal cars.

“So kung hindi naman kayo mapamahiin (take note: BLACK na Innova sinakyan ko pero may happily ever after naman ako), ‘wag na kayo mag-hire ng bridal car… Pero kung trip mo mag-hire ng Jaguar o ng Limousine o ng convertible o kung ano pa man, go lang. Important makarating kayo sa ceremony,” she said.

(So if you’re not superstitious (I rode a black Innova and yet I have my happily ever after), don’t bother renting a bridal car. But if renting a Jaguar, a Limousine or a convertible car is your thing, I am not going to stop you. The important thing is for you to reach your destination.) YG/IDL
