UST National Writers Workshop now accepting applicants | Lifestyle.INQ

THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies (UST CCWLS) is now accepting applications to the 2016 UST CCCWLS National Writers Workshop to be held on July 24-30 at Ridgewood Residence, Baguio City. Twelve fellowships are available to aspiring writers 21 years and older. Accepted fellows are expected to stay for the duration of the workshop.

Submission in either English or Filipino must consist of either two short stories, two works of creative nonfiction, two one-act plays, or four poems. Manuscript should be submitted in hard copy and on CD, preferably in Microsoft Word format, together with an updated resumé, a recommendation letter from a literary mentor, a certification that the works are original, and two 2×2 ID pictures.

Special guest panelists are University of the Philippines professor emeritus Gémino Abad and Philippine High School for the Arts Director V.E. Carmelo Nadera Jr. Other members of the teaching panel: professor emeritus Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, Director of the UST CCWLS; Ralph Semino Galán, UST CCWLS assistant director; Ina Abuan, Augusto Antonio Aguila, Ma. Ailil Alvarez, Joyce Arriola, Michael Coroza, Mar Anthony Simon Dela Cruz, Joselito de los Reyes, Dawn Marie Nicole Marfil, Ned Parfan, Chuckberry Pascual, John Jack Wigley and Josélito B. Zulueta.

The participation of this year’s special guest panelists has been made possible through the sponsorship of the UST The Varsitarian.
