MANILA, PHILIPPINES  With a platform where determination shines and dynamism is appraised in leaps and bounds, hundreds of Filipinos answered the call of challenge and participated in the Manila leg of Under Armour’s Test of Will at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City from April 16 to 17.

Test of Will is Under Armour’s inaugural Southeast Asia-wide fitness challenge that countries like the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand would be hosting their own qualifiers as each participating nation will have a representative of two men and two women in the final round that is scheduled to happen at the extravagant Gardens by the Bay in Singapore on May 28.

16 competitors will go head-to-head inside the highly-touted structure known as The Tower, which contains different fitness zones with calisthenic exercises.

The who’s who of the local show business scene and the Philippine sports industry were one with the most innovative sports apparel today in celebrating human performance, functional fitness and training lifestyle.

Also in attendance for Test of Will were PBA big man Jervy Cruz, fitness power couple of Jim and Toni Saret, two-time MVP national swimmer Johan Aguilar, MMA legend Erwin Tagle and outstanding UA athlete Walt Steven Young.

Young, who is the co-founder of Crossfit Insurrecto, was tapped to be the head judge of the Test of Will challenge.

Pushing the outer limits of strength and endurance, will-driven Pinoys competed in a four-minute intense contest that required them to complete 60 seconds of four exercises such as burpees, squats, dumbbell presses and pull-ups.

Two Pinoy fitness enthusiasts shined the brightest as Noelle Wenceslao topped the competition and the female category with 243 total reps. Meanwhile, Derrick Carlo Mercado triumphantly had his hand raised in the male bracket with 164.

At the moment, Wenceslao and Mercado are the leading participants with the most number of reps completed in the ongoing Test of Will challenge.
