Have you noticed that most people prefer using the same scent or the same perfume brand?

It seems that what’s important is what they feel when they spray it on. As for me, the scent I use for a specific day depends on my mood, the time and the weather.

I think people should not just ride on a trend and instead find the scent that really smells good on them.

The thing is, I’m likewise experiencing scent fatigue, like everybody smells the same.

But there’s this perfume brand I want to tell you about: Rancé 1795, which comes from a unique tradition. In the 1600s the Rancé family became famous for producing perfumed gloves for the French aristocracy in Grasse, France. In 1795, the family’s patriarch, François Rancé, focused on perfumery and launched Rancé 1795.

Rancé himself was appointed the official perfume supplier of the French Imperial Court, becoming Napoleon’s favorite perfumer.

For Josephine Bonaparte, he created the scent L’Impératrice. Subsequent Rancé generations continued to develop innovative fragrances and gems of perfumery for illustrious figures of their time.

Moving to Milan in 1902, the company headquarters now hosts a permanent museum, which features Rancé historical products, archives and the corporate collection of objets d’Art de la Parfumerie.

Among these stand vintage Rancé powder boxes, antique moulds for soap production and the Impératrice porcelain box, twin to the one presented to Josephine along with the fragrance created in her honor.

Today, the seventh Rancé generation is carrying on the family’s traditional craft, inspired by ancient recipes, selected ingredients of the highest quality, passion, research and creativity. Rancé 1795 creates iconic contemporary fragrances which make its history evermore unique.

I have been using Rancé’s Pauline for almost four years now; and each time I wear it, nobody gets the scent right, which is exciting.

I also plan to add Rancé’s Laetitia to my collection, and hope to visit the Rancé section at the Essenses shop in Power Plant Mall and Rustan’s Department Store.

I strongly recommend you try out this brand because its scents are sophisticated and well-researched. Each scent tells its own story; you would want to make it a part of your dresser.
