Bottle throwing and flipping and catching them just in time were just some of the bartending tricks that Aldrin Javar showed during the recent TGIFRidays Bartender Championship.

After joining the TGIfridays Bartender Competition for seven consecutive years, ALDRIN JAVAR of TGIFridays Fairview finally took home the elusive crown and the title “King of the Bar” at the recent 21st TGIFridays “Shake, Rattle, and Pour”.

It was a ‘bar’rage of the best bartending skills, as 8 contenders rocked the bar stage and battled it out to give the audience at Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Place Manila an adrenaline-pumping good time.

Javar will be the Philippine Representative to the TGIFridays Asia-Pacific Bartending Competition in Taiwan that will be held this October. If he wins the title, he will compete at the World Bartending Competition to be held in Dallas, Texas, with a chance to bring home a back-to-back victory for the country, like what World Bartending Champion Rizza Umlas did last year.

“This is such a sweet victory, something I have waited for a long time!” said the 28-year old bartender. He is one determined soul as he tried to do better and challenge himself every year. “All my previous mistakes only made me want to do it right this time,” he added.

Javar bested bartenders from TGIFridays all over the country. Other winners this year included John Jerick “The Bump Guy” Galicia TGIFridays Bonifacio High Center, 1st runner-up and winner of the Compulsory Round and Jo Eric “The Kid Rock” Carpena of TGIFridays Alabang Town Center,2nd –Runner Up.

Flairtending was clearly Javar’s domain as he showcased fluid moves during the Freestyle Round. His signature move, which was juggling multiple bottles and tins flawlessly, along with precision, a sunny personality and entertaining skills ,won the nod of the judges.

Rizza Umlas, the first female bartender and the first Filipina to win the TGIFridays World Bartender Championship last year showed off her winning form much to the delight of the crowd.
