Health hazards in everyday substances | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Do you know that there are causes of disease which may seem like harmless substances in products used in daily life?

Here are a few  health challenges, and probable purveyors of sickness.

Brain tumor—Dr. Rusell Blaylock, neurosurgeon and author of “Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients,”  in a conversation with Suzanne Somers, author of “Bombshell,” explains that there is a “definite link” between increased aspartame (a sugar substitute) consumption and the risk of developing brain tumors in men and women.

Unfortunately, there are many products mixed with toxic substances like pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, (found in construction materials like carpet adhesives and glues) and food products.

These toxic ingredients break down into formaldehyde in the body. Even certain so-called “organic” food are not spared. Some organic farmers could be using “natural” pesticides which could contain a fluoride compound that might be toxic.

Cancer—This disease has long been linked to heavy metal poisoning. Health experts are blaming, among many other heavy metals, the use of mercury in dental amalgam. Thimerosal, a mercury-containing  vaccine, poses a risk, according to Dr. Blaylock.

Contaminated fish found in toxic seas or lakes will find their way into the organs, once eaten.

Listen to the experts to fight toxicity within the body, and increase intake of anti-oxidants. Brightly-colored fruits and vegetables highest in flavonoids are more easily absorbed by the body only when they are chewed properly or ground through a blender. That’s because 80 percent nutrients are released for easier absorption when ground up.

Enzymes

It has been found that the human body lacks the enzymes to break down the cell walls of vegetables. Thus,  good digestion begins in the mouth through proper chewing.

There is an old practice which is now finding its way back into homes: raw or unpasteurized milk is now allowed in many countries worldwide (including 29 states in the United States).

Pasteurization is the process of killing microbes (bacteria, salmonella, E. coli and listeria—all food-borne and causing diseases).

While the jury is still out, know that there are also suspicions about ultrapasteurized fruit juices which produce benzene.

Natural nutrients like beta-carotene, phenylalanine and terpene get converted into benzene as a result of ultrapasteurization.

People against raw food juicing warn that regular “juicing” followers are ingesting bacteria found in raw vegetables and fruits.

The key, of course, is to adopt hygienic practices.

Wash your fresh produce well—rinse in sea salt, natural vinegar and water before consuming.

Consider the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 fish oil, vitamin E, curcumin (turmeric), ellagic acid, garlic oil and extra virgin olive oil. All these fight and prevent plaque build-up in the arteries.

It is also important to know that vitamin B12 is associated with a high incidence of heart disease, weakness and fatigue.

To strengthen the body, cut back on sugar and processed foods. Introduce more fresh whole foods to your diet. Never forget to exercise.

Bravo, forward-thinking medical practitioners who believe in the power and healing abilities of the mind. Your attitude can change your disposition.

While traditional medicine is effective in treating acute disorders, there is much to be learned from natural medicine and its emphasis on prevention.

There can be dramatic effects on one’s health if the approach is wholistic—pray, eat right, exercise, practice moderation. But above all, adopt a policy of kindness to yourself and to everyone.

This week’s affirmation:

“I am kind to myself and others.”

Love and light!
