A Brazilian construction worker is looking to become the next big thing in bodybuilding, so much so that he’s willingly injecting potentially lethal oil into his muscles.

Following the footsteps of his hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, Valdir Segato has found a way to achieve a bulked-up physique—albeit in an unnatural way.

As a result of painful synthol injections, the 48-year-old Sao Paulo native has gained 25 kilograms and his biceps have ballooned into a whopping 23 inches.

“This is a dream come true that I searched for and conquered,” he described his transformation to Metro.co.uk News. “You look at your body and see that it’s growing and you’re going to want more.”

Segato, who’s gained notoriety as the local “He-Man” and “Hulk,” started injecting oil into his biceps, chest and shoulders five years ago.

He admittedly opened up about his drug use in his youth, which caused his weight to plummet so that people would call him “skinny dog” and “little skull.”

“There was a time in my life that I got involved with wrong things. I decided to change my life,” he said.

Along with his tough upbringing and eagerness to become famous, Lefato started going to the local gym, but soon found out that he could not achieve the results he wanted just by exercising.

Doctors, meanwhile, have continuously warned Segato about the perils of his methods, especially on the risk of infection which may even lead to amputation. They also claimed that his unnatural way of bulking up doesn’t actually make his muscles stronger.

“The oil is mostly aesthetic, it models the body and makes the muscle swollen—it doesn’t affect strength,” one medical practitioner confirmed in the report.

Despite their warnings, Segato is eager to continue using the syringe and aims to get an even bigger physique.

“The doctors tell me to stop it, the advice they give me is to stop using,” he said. “But it’s my decision to use it because I want to, because I like to.”

Segato is aiming to pump his biceps by a further 10 cm, in hopes that his muscles will one day lead him to stardom.

‘My dream is that with my musculature I try can achieve something and make a career from my body,” he said.

“I don’t have any regrets. I look at myself in the mirror and I like the way I look.”  Khristian Ibarrola
