At last, a “Hello Kitty” product exclusive to adult fans.

Sanrio, the Japanese company where Hello Kitty belongs, has partnered with Italian winery Torti Wines to distill an impeccable range of Hello Kitty-themed liquor.

It comes in seven assorted variants: Sweet Pink, Spumante, California Red Wine, Cupido, Charmy, Lady and Sparkling Rosé. The Sweet Pink bottle is intricately sculpted with a heart-shaped neck exclusive to the famed Sanrio “British lady.”

Surprisingly, Hello Kitty wines were infused and sold as early as 2007 in European and Asian markets, Los Angeles Times reported. However, the demand for them has spiked over the past few days as several news sites featured the products.

Patrizia Torti, a family member of the Torti clan, told the news site that several employees from the Japanese company tasted their wine and later called her to produce the Hello Kitty wine.

“My father and my sister take care of the production, from the soil to picking the grapes,” she told the news site. “We produce a special bottle with a heart, only for Hello Kitty.” To even underscore the wine’s rarity, California restaurant Antonello Ristorante offers the sparkling wine with other Hello Kitty dishes from Oct. 12 to Nov. 12.

The booze is also available on several retail sites that ship across the US, such as Great Wine Direct and Winebee.com, where it is sold from $22 to $27 (P1, 069 to P 1,312). Well, it would take a little longer before Filipinos could get tipsy with this refreshing booze.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
