Starbucks Coffee Company is now making ready-to-drink bottled Starbucks Frappuccino available in the Philippines. The Starbucks Frappuccino range will be sold in Starbucks stores, the bottled section of supermarkets, and select convenience stores across the  country.

 

Starbucks Bottled Frappuccino coffee is inspired by the original Starbucks coffeehouse Frappuccino blended beverages.

Tanghalang Ateneo stages new play

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola schools of the Ateneo de Manila University, opens its 38th season, “De/Constructing Narratives,” with “Boy”—a thought-provoking new play by award-winning American playwright Anna Ziegler, ongoing till Nov. 12 at Ateneo de Manila’s Black Box Theater.

 

The play, which had its world premiere produced by Keen Company in New York City earlier this year, is translated into Filipino by Guelan Varela-Luarca and directed by Ed Lacson Jr.

 

“Boy,” a story of self-realization and gender identity, stars Cholo Ledesma as Adam. Teroy Guzman plays Dr. Wendell Barnes, Adam’s psychologist; Camille Abaya as Jenny, Adam’s love interest; and Mayen Estañero and Wenah Nagales alternating as Trudy, Adam’s mother. Juliene Mendoza plays Doug, Adam’s father.

Learn to make ‘kakanin’

The Golden Treasure Skills and Development Program will conduct a one-day seminar on  native delicacies or kakanin-making and chocolate-making and moulding Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,  at the UPIS Building, A. Ma. Regidor St.,  University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

 

Participants will learn, through actual demo and food tasting and hands-on experience, how to make puto flan, inutak, palitaw, puto, espasol, buchi, maja blanca, biko, pichi pichi, halayang ube, bibingkang pinipig, cassava cake, sapin sapin, kutsinta, puto pao, puto bumbong, minoron, tupig, binagol, baye baye, kalamay, nilupak, suman sa lihiya, suman sa ibos.

 

They will also be taught how to make special leche flan, latik and many more.

 

The seminar will likewise teach how to make decorative and fun-shape chocolates and bars with assorted colors and designs, packaging of chocolates and product presentation, as well as uses of extenders for chocolates such as almonds, raisins, peanuts, among others.
