Nine years ago, Carl Guevara won “Be Bench/The Model Search,” a reality TV show that recognized him and female model Regine Angeles as the new faces of the global clothing and lifestyle brand, Bench.

Today, that wide-eyed, boyish cutie is all grown up—and he’s still making us swoon. This busy actor is also a serious athlete, and his fit physique is proof.

Big appetite

Carl’s buff exterior belies the fact that he actually has a big appetite. Starving himself to stay slim, therefore, isn’t his style; rather, it’s about striking a fine balance between a well-rounded diet, regular exercise and maintaining the right attitude.

Of all his workout routines, Carl loves boxing the most as it engages his whole body and is a great stress reliever.

“If you really want it, you have to commit to time and various physical routines that work for your body. You have to discipline yourself into eating the right kind of food and embracing a positive mind-set. Being positive helps you stay focused on your goals.”

He applies that same mindset to his career as an actor. After making the rounds of local networks, the 27-year-old recently returned to ABS-CBN’s Star Magic stable of stars.

“I see myself improving as an actor in the years to come,” says Carl, who has appeared in dramas and comedies. “I know I still have much to learn before I reach my goal.”
