An entrepreneur was crowned 2017 Miss Universe Philippines at the culmination of the 2017 Binibining Pilipinas pageant’s coronation night staged at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night, and ended early morning on Labor Day.

 

Rachel Peters from Camarines Sur bested 39 other aspirants to receive the crown from Maxine Medina, who finished in the Top 6 in the 2016 Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines in January.

 

Peters was also proclaimed Best in Swimsuit.

 

Reigning Miss International Kylie Verzosa, meanwhile, relinquished her Bb. Pilipinas-International crown to Best in Long Gown winner Maria Angelica de Leon, daughter of actors Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong.

 

Elizabeth Clenci received the Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International crown from 2016 Miss Grand International first runner up Nicole Cordoves.

 

Miss Globe third runner up Nichole Manalo passed her Bb. Pilipinas crown to Nelda Ibe, a cadette pilot, while model Katarina Rodriguez received the Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental crown from 2016 Miss Intercontinental Top 15 finisher Jennifer Hammond.

 

Model-host Chanel Olive Thomas got the Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational title from 2016 Miss Supranational Top 20 finisher Joana Eden.

Actor Xian Lim hosted the ceremonies with 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and 2010 Miss Universe fourth runner up Venus Raj as anchorperson.
