Tricia Centenera of Scrub Talulah

The Christmas rush is real, and honestly, who has the time to squeeze in lengthy beauty treatments in the clinic? Something I recommend to family and friends is to grab a trusty body scrub to fake the glow of a trip to the derma.

Body scrubs are popular skin and body care products. They complement one’s existing routine by helping slough away dead cells. A scrub leaves skin softer and smoother, making it the perfect canvas for makeup and skincare.

Scrubs use abrasives and substances to do the trick. If you remember, plastic microbeads once populated our scrubs—and sinks—in the past. But because of their clogging properties, their use have been discouraged.

Today we enjoy other options that use environment-friendly materials while polishing our skin as well.

Let’s support local by trying Scrub Talulah. The brainchild of lifestyle blogger and model Tricia Centenera, this homegrown product is crafted with a nourishing blend of premium coffee grounds, organic centrifuged virgin coconut oil, and sea salt. The coffee grounds improve circulation, and help tighten the skin which, in turn, assist in reducing cellulite. The rock sea salt is also a great natural alternative to microbeads.

Personally, I like using scrubs every other week, because they help my skin absorb the lotions or oils I apply after bathing. I also feel like that extra TLC and time I spend on my skin are little treats.

This Sunday, check out Global Mala, a yoga, wellness, charity event where all proceeds go to WWF Philippines. It will be held at the Blue Leaf Pavillion, McKinley Hill in Taguig, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Scrub Talulah may be purchased there.
