Parched for alcoholic drinks but too tired to hit the bars?

A Friday night-in or, alternatively, a lazy afternoon at the  pad  can be spent sipping cocktails to relieve some of the stress  acquired over the workweek.

Being your own mixologist helps with penny-pinching, too, since you can have as many glasses without coughing up so much money.

Janina Raella “Ninay” Zamora, who serves comfort food and potent brews at Arc & Vine Café in Makati (Facebook Arc & Vine Cafe, Instagram @arcandvine), lends us her sangria recipe that won’t require bartending skills and tools.

It’s so easy to make you’ll have a cocktail on hand faster than waiting for the Uber surge to drop on a payday weekend.

Ingredients for sangria by Ninay ZamoraINGREDIENTS

• Red wine
• 1 solo-size bottle or can of lemonade
• Sola bottled iced tea
• Sprite or 7 Up
• Ice
• Orange slices
• Calamansi slices
• Lemon slices (optional)

Fill with ice up to half a standard-size mason jar, which can be bought for cheap in supermarkets like Shopwise. Pour in 100 ml red wine.
Add 100 ml lemonade and then 80 ml Sola iced tea. The measurements are just an approximation; they don’t need to be strictly followed.
Fill the rest of the mason jar with Sprite or 7 Up.
Stir the mixture. Squeeze in the juice from and garnish with orange, calamansi and/or lemon slices. Prettify with a printed, bright-color straw if available.
