Japanese interior designers, in partnership with the city of Okawa, released a video ad featuring furniture for cats.

Designed by Hiromatsu Furniture and Tateno Wood Art Co., the miniature furniture seen on the ad were in fact made as a statement: if a cat, known to be very picky about where they stay, finds the furniture comfortable enough, then it could be good enough for humans.

The ad promotes the particular wood craftsmanship native to Okawa. Both companies are located in the city, as reported by SoraNews24.

The featured “cat furniture” were not meant to be sold. However, positive reactions from the ad made the companies reconsider crafting for-sale pieces. The video has gotten over 100,000 views and 400 likes, as of this writing.

Perhaps cat lovers from overseas would be inclined to purchase a mini sofa for their pets. Alfred Bayle/JB
