As this story sees print, Miss Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters will already be in Las Vegas for the Miss Universe pageant set on Nov. 26, and, like we do every year, Inquirer Lifestyle holds a glam shoot as a send-off for the beauty queen.

Peters is not your typical pageant girl; a beach girl at heart, she has a personality that is very laid-back and private. Whenever she can, she tries to fly to Siargao, to unwind, surf and run her café called Bake, which will soon become a bed and breakfast.

Her personality is reflected in her preferred fashion. Away from the formal wear and the glitz, she prefers to keep things very chill and classic.

“I like basic colors mostly, especially blacks and blues,” she said during the shoot. That is why she felt very much at ease wearing the pieces for the shoot. —CONTRIBUTED
