Second F&B Report Summit to focus on food education, millennials

OCTOBER 27, 2022

This year’s F&B Report Summit returns with the mission of celebrating the industry through discourse and dialogue on Mar. 22 at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier.

As last year’s speaker Peter Pysk puts it, consumers are hungry for products with meaning, businesses that share stories about who they are, why they do what they do, and what they stand for. At the core of the 2018 summit are keynote speakers Kiddo Cosio of El Union Coffee, Erwan Heussaff, and chef Myke Sarthou who will relay their personal narratives and insights on the emerging roles of youth, social media, and education in the industry.

The wish to return to products that embody credibility will meanwhile be explored by the agriculture panel, which features Real Fresh Dairy Farm’s Paco Magsaysay, Malipayon Farms’ Gejo Jimenez, Pamora Farm’s Tina Morados, and Seed Core Enterprises founder Rob Crisostomo. Organic farming advocate and the Department of Agriculture’s Undersecretary for Agribusiness, Marketing and Regional Engagement Berna Romulo-Puyat will also return as a panelist.

Discussions on the current state of hospitality and tourism will be led by Manila Marriott Hotel’s Bruce Winton, CCA Manila’s Liza Morales, Enderun College’s Suzette Montinola, and The Jeepney Company Inc.’s founder and president Clang Garcia, best known for her innovative yet traditional culinary heritage tours.

Completing the roster of panelists, who are largely dedicated to fostering a more compassionate industry, are the restaurateurs and chefs who innovate food without losing reverence for tradition, family, and heritage: Your Local’s Nicco Santos, The Raintree Group of Restaurants’ Kalel Chan, The Experience Collective’s Isabel Lozano, El Union Coffee’s Sly Samonte, and Manila Creamery’s Jason Go.
