With esports such as League of Legends and Arena of Valor gaining popularity among Filipino gamers, Globe Telecom’s gaming division has successfully secured partnerships with Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and Garena, Southeast Asia’s largest gaming platform.

The telecommunications giant has also forged a strategic partnership with Mineski, one of the Philippines’ premier esports organizations. By creating an esport team and molding them from the ground up, local gamers have the potential to compete, and even win, in international events and tournaments.

This development bodes well for the country’s growing gaming community. By providing Filipinos with a platform on which they can hone their skills to make them good enough to participate on a global arena, the future of the Philippines’ gaming culture looks bright.
