The name “Trump” has been the object of ire of many these past few days, whether it’s US President Donald Trump, presidential daughter Ivanka Trump and, now, First Lady Melania Trump.

More and more people have been speaking out against President Trump for his “zero tolerance” immigration policies that saw thousands of young immigrant children and babies torn away from their parents at the US-Mexico border. The parents and children have been detained inside cage-like shelters in Texas.

Daughter Ivanka was slammed by writers and personalities just yesterday for a tweet she made that had people calling her out for her “complicity” and fecklessness in the immigration crisis.

Today, wife Melania was subject to harsh criticism when photos of her surfaced, showing her wearing a jacket with the words “I really don’t care. Do u?” on the back while she was on her way to an immigrant children’s shelter.

Dr. Eugene Gu, a surgeon-scientist from Stanford, shared today a screenshot of Melania wearing the jacket. He wrote in disbelief, “Thought this was photoshopped but no, this is real. While visiting children thrown into internment camps, Melania Trump actually wore a jacket saying, ‘I don’t really care, do U?’”

Dr. Gu added, “That’s like Marie Antoinette ripping a piece of bread from a starving baby and spitting on it.”

Comedian Chelsea Handler, too, called out Melania on her Twitter account today, saying her wearing the jacket was hard to swallow.

The hypocrisy of @FLOTUS going down to the border to speak broken English to our refugees in that dumb jacket is a little hard to swallow. For all the trump supporters who defend her by saying she speaks five languages—English isn’t one of them.”

Journalist and author Tony Schwartz also spoke out against Melania, calling her “tone deaf” for wearing such a jacket while on her way to meet detained immigrant children.

“Let’s just talk facts. Melania Trump flies to Texas to meet with immigrant children separated from their parents. Good for her. She wears a jacket that says ‘I really don’t care.’  This is tone deaf at best. Why would anyone wear a jacket that says ‘I don’t care’ any time?”

Senior Adviser to The Democratic Coalition, Scott Dworkin, too, had some sharp words for Melania.

“Melania Trump is already being celebrated in white supremacist circles for wearing that jacket. Trump’s plan worked.”

Comedian and journalist Richard Jeter, meanwhile, offered his condolences to news satire organization The Onion for looking for a way to satirize a reality that was already satirical in itself.

“Melania Trump wore a jacket that read ‘I really don’t care. Do U?’ to visit traumatized migrant children that her husband had put in cages,” Jeter wrote today. “I once again offer my sincerest condolences to @TheOnion for having to find a way to satirize a reality that has, itself, become satire.”

But if there’s anyone who thinks otherwise about Melania’s “tone dead” jacket, it would be President Trump himself, who said in a tweet today that the message on Melania’s jacket is for the “Fake News Media.”

“’I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?’ written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media,” defended Trump. “Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”

So far, more than 2, 300 immigrant children are known to have been separated from their parents at the border since May.  /ra
