25 schools battle it out for the championship at the Dome today
AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING, ENDLESS physical training and preparation, the country?s finest, strongest, and innovative streetdance teams will face off at Skechers Streetdance Battle 5.
Expect thousands of eager dance enthusiasts to flock to the Araneta Coliseum at 3 p.m., today to witness the culmination of the highly anticipated grand Final Battle.
This year?s Skechers Streetdance Battle saw close to 100 participating high school and college streetdance crews, who competed for the back-to-back eliminations. In the end, only 25 teams, composed of 10 high school and 15 college crews, made it to the finals.
The high school eliminations were held last Oct, 21. The ten lucky finalists were Colegio San Agustin Dance Troupe, St. Paul-Pasig Terpsichore, Civil Aeronautics Administration Annex JHEMPZZ, Miriam College High School Sayawatha Dance Troupe, La Salle Greenhills Airforce, St. Mark?s Institute Campus Image, School of the Holy Spirit Aglaia 0.9 Dance Troupe, Claret School Hataw, Xavier School Dance X, and Ateneo de Manila High School?s Indak.
Last Oct. 11, college eliminations were held and the first-batch finalists were Ateneo de Manila University?s Company of Ateneo Dancers, De La Salle University?s La Salle Dance Company Street, UP Los Baños Wyre Underground, Lyceum of the Philippines? Lyceum Spartans Dance Troupe, and UP Diliman?s UP Street Dance Club.
Last Oct. 17, another college eliminations were held and those who made it were Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City?s TIP Talents Guild, Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba?s Letran Dance Crew, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila?s PLM Iskolars Dance Incorporated, Far Eastern University?s FEU FERN Crew, and Far Eastern University?s FEU Dance Company.
Last Oct. 18, the last college eliminations were held and the lucky finalists were University of Makati?s Funky Jazz Extreme, University of the East?s Extreme Squad, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa?s University Campus Style, Assumption College?s Assumption Dance Company, and the AMA Computer University?s AMA Dance Troupe.
Witness as all 25 teams face off for a shot at the grand prize of P100,000 and the ultimate bragging rights as the 2009 Skechers Streetdance Battle champions!
