British men on a stag party in Benidorm, Spain, allegedly paid a homeless man 100 euros (around P6,200) to tattoo the groom’s name on his forehead.

“Jamie Blake, North Shields, NE 28,” was the supposed-to-be tattoo, as reported by the Daily Star last Sunday, July 29. A photo of the man, identified as Polish national Tomek, was shared via Facebook by the tattoo parlor where he was inked.

Tomek, who was being tattooed during the time the photo was captured, was seen smiling while making a peace sign. The homeless man who is in his early thirties was not able to complete the tattoo as he had been in too much pain to proceed.

The tattoo shop was criticized by its customers and the photo has been deleted from its page, as of this writing.

“What they have done to this man is utterly inhuman and is akin to abuse. I’m appalled that a group of grown men would take advantage of someone in such a vulnerable position,” stated Karen Malin Cowles, president of the Benidorm British Business Association who also happened to know Tomek, the report said. “They have left a human being scarred for the rest of their life.”

She has also called out the tattoo shop for going through with the inking. She said that they are “looking into having the tattoo removed at some stage for him.”

“He isn’t homeless,” Jamie Blake, the supposed groom of the stag party told Evening Chronicle yesterday, July 31.  The North Shields native stressed Tomek is not homeless as the Polish national supposedly lives with Blake’s friend and works on the strip. Moreover, he said that Tomek was not paid any money to have Blake’s name tattooed on his forehead.

Blake stated that he and his fiancée broke off their engagement before the tattoo incident, but he decided to continue with the stag party anyway. He said that because of the turn of events, he might have to go back home to North Shields because of the possibility of losing his job in Benidorm. Kate Matriano/JB
