Who says you can’t have a quiet holiday in Boracay? | Lifestyle.INQ

THE LAGOON-SHAPED pool of Boracay Regency offers guests a more private way to enjoy Boracay.

It seems like every year, more and more beachgoers both local and foreign find their way to Boracay, so it is a little unrealistic to expect to find a beach with no people.

Normally Station 1 is a popular choice but even there the number of bars has increased.

Fortunately, there is a resort in Station 2 that can still provide peace and quiet while still being only five minutes away from the main beach.

Boracay Regency Lagoon is located on Boracay’s main road, a sister resort of Boracay Regency Hotel and the third hotel owned by businessman/entrepreneur Henry Chusuey in Boracay.

Originally opened as an adult-only resort (18 years old and above), it changed policy early last year and has fast become a favorite destination for families and groups.

Island bar

The main attraction of the resort is its 1,200 square meter pool. Shaped like a lagoon with an island bar in the middle, it is considered the largest on the island and a perfect way to enjoy the Boracay weather without having to mix it up with the beachgoers on White Beach.

ZEST Air flies six times daily to Kalibo using mostly its fleet of Airbus 320s.

Also, it’s only four feet deep, making it ideal for families with kids.  The pool has two small islets accessed via a wooden bridge and shaded by tall palm trees, giving privacy for those relaxing poolside.

There are a total of 120 luxury rooms, all with balconies overlooking the pool, while all the rooms on the ground floor give immediate access to the pool, allowing guests to literally walk into the water.

Being part of the Hennan Group allows the guest to avail of the many amenities and services of Boracay Regency, like the beachfront restaurants, pools, and the Kai Spa, which offers some of the best signature massages on the island.

Boracay Regency resident manager Dindo Salazar says that “despite the fact that the Lagoon is not a beachfront resort, it is still part of Boracay Regency, and as a result gives its guests the very best in service and amenities.”

Getting to Regency Lagoon is fairly easy. Zest Air—“the freshest airline,” as they claim—has some of the more affordable flights to Kalibo from Manila’s Domestic Terminal.

Proper coordination with the resort can make your transfer from Kalibo to Caticlan painless, so you don’t have to commute. Upon arrival in Caticlan, guests are taken to Boracay Regency’s own welcoming center to await transfer to Boracay via private boat.
